Dependencies to install asterisk from source:
zlib-devel
ncurses-devel
openssl-devel
gcc
make
glibc-devel
autoconf
autotools
kernel-headers
newt-devel
once having downloaded the asterisk source file into /usr/src and untarred it. There is a useful script that can be found in /usr/src/contrib/scripts/ called ‘install_prereq’.
Pass the parameter ‘install’ and sit back !
